About
I'm Asaf Shitrit. I write software, mostly Go and TypeScript. The two projects that take most of my time are gotorque, where AI agents propose optimizations and the benchmarks decide whether they stay, and autoprof, which automates profile-guided optimization for Go binaries.
The rest of the time I'm somewhere near the edge of the network: zero trust proxies, Cloudflare Workers, a party-game engine that lives on Durable Objects. Everything is on the projects page, pulled from GitHub when this site builds.
Software engineering is what happens to programming when you add time and other programmers.

This blog is whatever caught my attention, written down while I still remember why. Usually that's something I had to work out for myself, so the post follows the order I worked it out in. Software and AI most of the time.
Games, racing, music and security get a post whenever one of them grabs me. The gaming and racing ones still come with numbers: frame times, input latency, lap times, and what hardware they came from.
If a post is wrong, the source for this site is on GitHub and corrections by pull request are welcome. The feed is at /rss.xml. Markdown posts appear in full; MDX posts include a summary and a link to the full post.
